Clinical Presentation & Protocol

Patient Usually Complains Of

Patient presents for follow-up of moderate aortic stenosis. Currently reports [asymptomatic / exertional dyspnea / mild angina / lightheadedness]. Denies syncope, orthopnea, or paroxysmal nocturnal dyspnea. Functional capacity is [NYHA Class I/II].

Clinical Examination Findings

Cardiovascular exam reveals a regular rate and rhythm. Carotid upstroke is [normal/slightly diminished]. Auscultation demonstrates a grade [II-III/VI] harsh systolic ejection murmur, loudest at the right upper sternal border, radiating to the carotids. S2 is [present/diminished]. No peripheral edema noted.

Treatment Protocol

Continue current medical management. Monitor for progression of symptoms. Maintain strict blood pressure control. Schedule serial echocardiography every [6-12] months to assess valve hemodynamics and left ventricular function. Advise patient to report any new chest pain, syncope, or exercise intolerance immediately.
