Clinical Presentation & Protocol
Patient Usually Complains Of
Patient presents with acute onset of unilateral motor weakness involving the face, arm, and leg of equal severity. No sensory deficits, visual field abnormalities, or higher cortical dysfunction (aphasia, neglect, or apraxia) reported. Symptoms reached peak intensity within minutes.
Clinical Examination Findings
Patient is hemodynamically stable. Cardiovascular exam reveals regular rate and rhythm without murmurs. Carotid auscultation negative for bruits. Blood pressure is elevated at [Insert BP], consistent with acute stroke presentation.
Treatment Protocol
Initiate secondary stroke prevention: Antiplatelet therapy (e.g., Aspirin 81-325mg or Clopidogrel 75mg), high-intensity statin (e.g., Atorvastatin 80mg), and strict blood pressure control (target <140/90 mmHg). Screen for underlying vascular risk factors including diabetes and hyperlipidemia.
