Condition where bone and cartilage in the lateral femoral condyle of the right knee lose blood supply and die.

Clinical Presentation & Protocol

Patient Usually Complains Of

Patient presents with chronic, localized right knee pain exacerbated by weight-bearing and physical activity. Reports intermittent mechanical symptoms including catching, locking, and localized swelling. No history of acute trauma. Pain localized to the lateral aspect of the joint line.

Clinical Examination Findings

Right knee examination reveals localized tenderness over the lateral femoral condyle. Mild joint effusion present. Range of motion is limited by pain at terminal extension. Wilsonโ€™s test is positive for pain reproduction. No ligamentous instability noted; neurovascular status intact.

Treatment Protocol

Initial management includes activity modification, protected weight-bearing with crutches, and physical therapy for quadriceps strengthening. If lesion is unstable or refractory to conservative measures, surgical intervention (arthroscopic debridement, drilling, or internal fixation) is indicated.
