Clinical Presentation & Protocol
Patient Usually Complains Of
Patient presents with a history of a pivoting/twisting injury. Heard/felt a distinct 'pop' followed by rapid onset of severe swelling (hemarthrosis) within 2-4 hours. Chief complaint is instability and 'giving way' with pivoting movements.
Clinical Examination Findings
Otherwise healthy individual in distress.
Treatment Protocol
1. RICE protocol. 2. Hinged knee brace. 3. Analgesia. 4. MRI Knee without contrast. 5. Pre-hab PT referral.
