Clinical Presentation & Protocol
Patient Usually Complains Of
Patient presents with localized pain over the right medial epicondyle, exacerbated by wrist flexion and forearm pronation. Reports gradual onset, often associated with repetitive occupational or athletic activities. Denies paresthesias in the ulnar nerve distribution or history of acute trauma.
Clinical Examination Findings
Right elbow inspection reveals no erythema or swelling. Palpation demonstrates point tenderness at the right medial epicondyle. Pain is reproduced with resisted wrist flexion and forearm pronation. Passive wrist extension elicits discomfort. Neurovascular status is intact distally; no signs of ulnar nerve entrapment or instability.
Treatment Protocol
Initiate conservative management: activity modification, avoidance of aggravating movements, and application of ice packs for 15 minutes, 3-4 times daily. Prescribe NSAIDs as needed. Recommend physical therapy for eccentric strengthening and stretching exercises. Consider counterforce bracing if symptoms persist.
