Clinical Presentation & Protocol
Patient Usually Complains Of
Patient presents with localized pain and swelling at the right tibial tuberosity, exacerbated by physical activity, jumping, or kneeling. Symptoms are consistent with repetitive traction apophysitis of the tibial tubercle. No history of acute trauma or systemic symptoms.
Clinical Examination Findings
Right knee examination reveals focal tenderness and prominence over the tibial tubercle. No joint effusion, ligamentous instability, or meniscal signs. Range of motion is full but painful upon resisted knee extension. Neurovascular status is intact distally.
Treatment Protocol
Conservative management initiated: activity modification, relative rest, and ice application to the right tibial tubercle for 15-20 minutes post-activity. Prescribed NSAIDs as needed for pain. Referral to physical therapy for quadriceps and hamstring stretching/strengthening program.
