Patient Usually Complains Of
Patient presents with acute onset of unilateral/bilateral parotid swelling, localized pain, and tenderness. Reports exacerbation of symptoms during mastication or exposure to gustatory stimuli. Denies systemic symptoms (fever, chills) or recent trauma. Duration: [Insert duration].
Clinical Examination Findings
Extraoral exam reveals firm, erythematous, and tender swelling over the parotid region. Intraoral exam shows erythema and edema of the Stensenโs duct orifice. Purulent or turbid saliva expression noted upon bimanual palpation of the gland. No evidence of fluctuance or abscess formation.
Treatment Protocol
