Clinical Presentation & Protocol

Patient Usually Complains Of

Patient presents for evaluation of Peliosis Hepatis (ICD-10: K76.4). History significant for [anabolic steroid use / chronic wasting disease / malignancy / organ transplantation]. Patient reports [asymptomatic / abdominal pain / hepatomegaly / signs of portal hypertension]. Review of systems negative for acute hemorrhage or hepatic failure.

Clinical Examination Findings

Physical examination reveals [hepatomegaly / mild abdominal tenderness / jaundice / ascites / spider angiomata]. Liver span measured at [X] cm. Cardiovascular exam stable; no signs of hemodynamic instability. Abdominal palpation suggests [soft/firm] liver edge.

Treatment Protocol

Management plan: 1. Discontinuation of offending agent (e.g., anabolic steroids). 2. Serial monitoring of liver function tests (LFTs) and abdominal imaging (US/CT/MRI). 3. Management of underlying systemic disease. 4. Surgical consultation if rupture or massive hemorrhage occurs. 5. Consider liver transplantation in cases of progressive liver failure.
