Clinical Presentation & Protocol
Patient Usually Complains Of
Classical symptoms of nerve compression. Reports paresthesias, burning pain, and numbness in the specific nerve distribution (Median or Ulnar). Profoundly worse at night. Notes decreased grip/pinch strength, frequent dropping of objects, and hand clumsiness.
Clinical Examination Findings
Alert, normal habitus.
Treatment Protocol
1. Custom-fit rigid night splint in neutral position (wrist) or extension (elbow). 2. Vitamin B complex + NSAIDs. 3. Corticosteroid Injection administered for diagnostic/therapeutic relief. 4. Ordered EMG/NCS for objective severity staging. 5. Surgical Release discussed if conservative fails.
