Clinical Presentation & Protocol
Patient Usually Complains Of
Patient presents with chronic, localized pain over the right lateral epicondyle, exacerbated by repetitive wrist extension and gripping activities. No history of acute trauma or neurological deficits. Pain is described as aching, occasionally sharp with activity, and localized to the common extensor origin.
Clinical Examination Findings
Physical examination of the right elbow reveals localized tenderness at the lateral epicondyle. Pain is reproduced with resisted wrist extension (Cozenโs test) and resisted middle finger extension (Maudsleyโs test). Range of motion is full and painless. No signs of cubital tunnel syndrome or radial nerve entrapment. Neurovascular status is intact distally.
Treatment Protocol
Conservative management initiated: Activity modification to avoid aggravating movements, use of a counterforce brace, and a structured physical therapy program focusing on eccentric strengthening of the wrist extensors. NSAIDs prescribed for pain management. Follow-up in 6 weeks to assess progress.
