Clinical Presentation & Protocol
Patient Usually Complains Of
Patient presents with chronic, progressive ankle pain localized to the talus, often worse at night. Reports localized tenderness, swelling, and occasional mechanical symptoms. Pain is partially responsive to NSAIDs. No history of acute trauma.
Clinical Examination Findings
Physical exam reveals localized bony tenderness over the talus, mild soft tissue swelling, and restricted range of motion in the subtalar and ankle joints. Neurovascular status is intact distally. No palpable mass noted.
Treatment Protocol
Recommended management includes surgical excision or curettage of the osteoblastoma. Pre-operative imaging (MRI/CT) required for surgical planning. Post-operative immobilization and physical therapy for functional rehabilitation.
