Clinical Presentation & Protocol
Patient Usually Complains Of
Patient presents with chronic heel pain, characteristically worse with the first steps in the morning or after prolonged periods of inactivity. Pain is localized to the plantar aspect of the calcaneus and improves with initial ambulation.
Clinical Examination Findings
Patient is in no acute distress, ambulatory with an antalgic gait favoring the affected limb. General physical examination is unremarkable.
Treatment Protocol
Conservative management initiated: activity modification, orthotic heel inserts, plantar fascia stretching exercises, and NSAIDs as needed.
