Clinical Presentation & Protocol
Patient Usually Complains Of
Patient presents with chronic lateral hip pain localized to the greater trochanter. Pain is exacerbated by prolonged standing, walking, and side-lying on the affected side. No history of trauma.
Clinical Examination Findings
Patient is in no acute distress, alert and oriented. General musculoskeletal survey reveals no systemic inflammatory signs.
Treatment Protocol
Conservative management initiated: activity modification, NSAIDs, physical therapy focusing on abductor strengthening and IT band stretching, and consideration for corticosteroid injection.
