Percutaneous Parathyroid Ethanol Injection (PEIT)

EN: Ultrasound-guided percutaneous injection of sterile 95% ethanol directly into nodular hyperplastic parathyroid glands. Indicated for medically refractory secondary or tertiary hyperparathyroidism in patients who are poor candidates for surgical parathyroidectomy. Causes coagulative necrosis and subsequent reduction of PTH secretion. AR: حقن عبر الجلد للإيثانول المعقم بتركيز 95% تحت توجيه الموجات فوق الصوتية مباشرة في غدد جارات الدرقية المتضخمة العقدية. يوصف لحالات فرط نشاط جارات الدرقية الثانوي أو الثالثي المقاوم للعلاج الطبي لدى المرضى غير المؤهلين لاستئصال الغدد جراحياً. يسبب نخر تخثري وخفض لاحق لإفراز هرمون PTH.
